Byron Singleton has been studying and practicing astrology for over 25 years.
He was first introduced to Eastern Astrology while living and studying yoga and Vedic philosophy at the Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin Canada.
In addition to being an astrologer he has studied and practiced spiritual and esoteric disciplines from many traditions including shamanism, yogic philosophy and Vedanta, Taoism, and Kabbalah. He had the privilege of studying Kriya Yoga for 3 years with Goswami Kriyananda at the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, and Kabbalah in NYC with Rabbi Joseph Gelberman founder of the Modern Interfaith Movement and author of "Physician of the Soul: A Modern Kabbalist’s Approach to Health and Healing."
He was initiated into the Sivananda lineage in 2001 and is a certified teacher of Hatha Yoga, as well as a certified Reiki practitioner.
In addition to his spiritual pursuits, Byron is a classically trained opera singer and has sung in major venues across the United States including The Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. He maintains a private voice studio and teaches voice at a fine arts college in NYC.
He holds a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and a Master of Music degree from Mannes College of Music

Vedic Astrology is a predictive system founded in ancient India and based on the wisdom and teachings of the Vedas, Indian scriptures written millennia ago.
It is the traditional astrology of India and in still in widespread use by the government and people of India.
It is a Lunar based system which unlike Western Astrology utilizes a Sidereal Zodiac based on the position of the constellations or the fixed stars. This differs from Western Astrology which uses the Tropical Zodiac which takes into account the procession of the equinoxes and the orientation of the Earth to the Sun. Because of this the zodiacs differ in their calculation by about 23 degrees. So for example if your Sun Sign is Scorpio in the Western chart it may be Libra in the Vedic chart.
Both systems are equally valid but different. The Western system is better for personality analysis and delving into the underlying mental, emotional, and spiritual motivators for how we act and react in given situations.
The Vedic system is utilized for understanding the proper timing of events and when certain types of karma will come to fruition in this lifetime. By knowing this, various remedial measures such as mantras and gemstones can be used to soften negative planetary and Karmic influences and strengthen positive ones.
